136gr Scenar-L 41.1gr H4350 CCI BR2 Hornady Brass 2.75" COAL 2610fps out of a 21" Bartlein. They're short and a little slow, but give Benchrest rifle accuracy. They'll shoot sub quarter MOA at 100, hold sub half to 1000 and at least sub MOA at 1300yds. |

So just got a semi 6.5cm with a 22" barrel. I've decided to go striaght into reloading with this rifle. Went to pick up some h4350, but couldn't find any so ended up grabbing Hodgson Hornady superperformance. Is this any good? Was planning on working some loads for 120s and 140 using Hornady bullets. Seems like 140 are the preferred though. |

Anyone ever try Norma's 130 grain Golden Target 6.5 bullets?
OAL" 2.835" seated to jmp .010" in my 6.5 CM Bergara - 22" barrel. Best accuarcy first day out using Lapua brass, CCI-450 primers and H4350 was found between 40.5 and 41.5 grains of powder. 41.0 pruduced a 5/8" five round group @ 100 yards in my rifle. |

Tried RE16 with some new brass and bullets.
Brass: Peterson 6.5 CM w/ LR primer pocket (neck sized with 0.288" Redding Type-S bushing) Powder: Reloder 16 Charge: 43.4gr Bullet: 130gr Berger AR Hybrid Velocity: 2910 avg (SD of 8 fps over 10 shots) CBTO: 2.257" Jump: lol idk Groups into nice little 0.5 MOA holes out of my 24" Tikka T3x. I noticed that the Peterson brass has less capacity than the Hornady brass I was used to. My 42.3gr charge for 147gr ELD-Ms disappears below the neck in Hornady brass, while that same charge in the Peterson brass actually comes up into the neck. Vibrating the brass with a small Oral-B toothbrush works well enough to settle the 43.4gr charge low enough so that I'm not crunching powder with the 130s. Sits right about level with the base of the neck. |

Ok while making brass for reloading (shooting) I picked up the following supplies:
Rifle is Howa HCR 24" 1-8 Brass: Hornady Powder: H4350 Primer: CCI BR2 Bullet: Hornady 140gr ELD-M From what I have been seeing those components are the most used. Except maybe for the brass. I'm not into max velocity but small groups. I will be neck sizing. New to this type of reloading and looking for a starting load and a suggested increment size for working up data. I have the Hornady book. It looks like 40gr would be a good starting point? |
|
|
New lot of RL16 is 8% hotter than previously. New charge to hit the same avg. velocity is 43.0 grains.

I'm probably the last one here that knows this. A search on "6.5 Creedmoor load data" turns up a link to Sierra's latest load sheets which include Reloder 16 data.
The 65Creedmoor site has a link in its reloading section for Alliant's latest load data with Reloder 16. That is the only place I have seen that data sheet, for some reason Alliant doesn't have it linked from their web site, or it's well hidden. Both files are pdf format. The search will also turn up the 2009 article in American Rifleman. |

Anyone gathered a lot of chrono data with 4451 and either 130 Bergers or 140 Bergers?
ive got plenty of Reloder 16 but considering giving IMR4451 another pass but have heard the SDs were high.. is there any validity to this compared to H4350 or RE16? |

I load both the Berger Hybrid AR and VLD hunting for two of my rifles with the same charge of 42.5 grains of 4451. Im getting 2760 FPS wityh the VLD Hunters out of a 24" barreled Bergara BMP and 2650 FPS with the AR Hybrids out of an 18" barreled AR 10. These were the results in my rifles so work up slowly! |
