Rifle length has system is most common with an 18-20" barrel.
Several guys shoot mid length gas too. |

For a budget build I'd probably get a Nordic barrel from CarbonArms. 18", SS, rifle length gas, smaller gas port diameter, perfect barrel for a budget build.

I just bought that barrel for one of my builds and getting 3/4" groups. It hits that right spot on the price for a budget build.
