What do these sponors do for the match?  Prize table?  Or just help make it better with better props and donations to the range etc?

Primarily props and targets, although Barnes Precision Machine has donated several complete rifles, some uppers and some lowers to our prize table.

Day 1 USPSA Nationals
You can watch the worst/slowest clearing of a double feed, or maybe a fail to extract idk on stage 1.  So pissed I didn't carry a second mag on the belt.

I managed to finish middle of the pack at 24 out of 52 in open at the Texas Multigun match in Liberty HIll. My Saiga helped by giving me a 6th place finish on the all shotgun stage.

I had a great time. The stages were  drag race run and gun style for the most part and that is what I like in a match.

Here is a video of me shooting the Crimson Trace Darkhouse at the Albany Pistol and Rifle club's "Home's For Our Troops" benefits match over the weekend.

Crimson Trace built the darkhouse for us and supplied the infrared laser, STS Arms supplied their SBR'd rifle with a YHM Phantom, I-Squared Technologies supplied the Night Vision and Double Tap Ammo supplied the ammo.

Big thanks to all the sponsors of the match. Looks like we raised quite a bit of money for "Homes For Our Troops" and had a great time.

Got done with the Alaska State Multigun match this weekend. It started out really bad for me when I went first on the first stage and tripped and did a face plant on the same exact prop as last year. (did a face plant last year too) I did manage to keep the gun pointed in a safe direction and as always my finger was off the trigger so no DQ. Make matters worse I had 2 FTE's on this stage and got last place on it. That screwed my mental game for a while. I still managed to get 4th in Open but truth be told there were only 8 open shooters. Still had fun over all just disappointed in myself. Also forgot to turn the dot on on my pistol on two stages and forgot to load my Saiga's magazine full on another stage. Hope to do better next time. A friend of mine is working with me on having a better mental game. Anyway here are the videos.

My two best videos from the Tarheel 3 Gun Challenge in NC.  I was shooting Heavy Metal for the first time, and this was only the 4th time I ever competed with iron sights completely in a 3 gun event as I normally shoot Tactical Optics.  Reason I wasn't using a pump is because they had combined us with Heavy Metal Optics since there was only 2 shooters shooting Heavy Metal Irons.  I didn't have time to get the mount and a optic for the M1A before the match.  I was using a Loaded M1A, Colt M1911 Goverment Model, and a Remington 1100 TAC4.    Honestly I felt I did terrible for my first major match.  These are the only two stages I did not time out on.  But I came back with learning more about what I need to work on, and plan on competing in the BRM3G match in October.  I did still have fun, and plan on competing on Heavy Metal on a regular basis now as I had a blast with the challenge.  I will say my friend John was shooting Heavy Metal Irons with a pump, .45acp REVOVLVER, and a M1 Garand so MAJOR props to him.

Congrats on the win Jesse.  It's even more impressive considering the number of rifle jams you had to work your way through - seemed like at least one on every stage.  Can't wait for RM3G and the Pro-Am next month; assuming you'll make both?

Are you shooting Heavy Optics the rest of the season, or just playing it match to match?  I've considered making that jump but don't have an optimal heavy rifle yet.

Dale hosted a great match at Birchwood Shooting Range in Anchorage Alaska. One of the best matches I have been to in the state. I had a lot of fun. Lots of cool sponsors. I would especially like to thank STI for the frame kit I won. Lots of cool sponsors there and I will let Dale list them out for a thank you. There were 34 shooters in all with 9 great stages. There was also a shoot off for Miltiary LEO folks and among the division winners to see who went to the prize table first. 1st place open, tactical and production all did a man on man shoot off with 22lr AR rifles. It was fun to watch. My friend 9x23guy looked like Daniel Horner while he was sprinting up to the table. Thankfully he won because it meant our division would go to the table first. Basically it was like this one big prize table that everyone walked and 1st place winners went first in the order of the shoot off standings, then 2nd place then 3rd and so on and so forth. This was a great match and I had a great time. In the military LEO shoot off I got eliminated on my second match up against a friend of mine.

Came in 2nd in open and 2nd overall at this match and won myself a STI Frame Kit among other things.

long range rifle
Long Range Rifle stage. I took 1st on this despite missing about 10 times in a row or more before realizing that I had forgotten to change to my 300 yard hold point. Dope. Fortunately once I got my brain un screwed I cleaned the steel from the second port fairly quickly. I was the only one to use the seated position. The problem was there was vegetation in front of some of the targets that made hitting difficult if you were not higher up. But those that tried kneeling and standing in the door frame had a very hard time as it was not that stable.  I sat down and used my bipod and it paid off. In the last few matches my rifle stages at longer ranges has been pretty good for up here in Alaska.

hoser rifle
I did just so so on this stage in the standings. I had a penalty on one target where I took a single head shot gun was in the C zone (low) so I did not have a AB or 2 hits on paper so I got a FTN penalty. I also did not game the stage properly. My plan went out the window when the timer went off.

pistol stage
Fun pistol stage. You had to shoot one of the poppers on the move. I finished ok here. Could have gone a bit faster.
Shotgun left and right shoulder
These pipes are heavy and hard to knock over. This was the only malfunction with my Saiga in the match with 2 of us shooting it and it was basically me not getting behind the gun enough on my left shoulder.  Finished 2nd on this stage. Its nice not having to reload.

Shotgun swinger

This stage sucked for me. I hit the barrel which got knocked into the swinger slowing it down so I could not hit the last clay costing me a penalty. My friend cleaned this stage with my Saiga in 4.6 seconds the fastest in the match.

lots of steel pistol stage

Really wish I had a second big stick for my Caspian. I could have used it on this stage as it would have saved me from having to shoot from 3 positions. I could have done it in 2.

pistol rifle stage inside a stage coach

Fun pistol rifle stage from inside a Cowboy action shooting stage coach that moves when you move.
I actually dialed my rifle in for 50 yards for this stage so I could make the head shots without having to remember any off set. It pays off to know your zero at different ranges.

Saiga domination large high round count shotgun stage

Good stage for me except missing one of the slug targets. I should have been paying better attention o the RO’s hit calls.  This was a total Saiga domination stage. My friend beat me on it using my gun. The other shotgun guys with tube guns in open were a lot slower due to the reloading they had to do.

Airborn clays

This was a fun stage and it was nothing like I have ever shot before with flying clays from clay launchers. I got 4 of the 6 air born clays that were tripped by sensors you ran through.

Desert Sportsman's monthly match
This video is rather long because it has 3 shooters in it.  One thing that was learned this match is even if you are shooting a Glock it still pays to case gauge your ammo.

The first stage was my first attempt designing a multigun stage.  I should have thought about the RO when building it.
