For my son! After 3 years of hunting. No, not over bait or in a blind. Spot and stalk, on Cheat Mountain, some pretty big country. This was the second day after he passed on 3 other small bucks.
It was really windy on some of the tall country, so we dropped into a pretty protected hollow. This guy was nose down coming at us at about 100 yards. 1 shot with his 7mm 08 with a Barnes 120 gr tsx that I helped him load with 44 gr of rl 15 . Kneeling down, 1 shot , dropped in his tracks. I don't know who was more excited me or him. 7 points, 16+ in spread. Smoked tenderloin to follow shortly.

Oh man ....I wish i was in that age to get a buck ...
