I'm down for a DMR net. I like the proposed time (or later even), I get in the dog house with the yl if I'm busy too many nights around 2030est when the kids are supposed to be going to bed.

DMR nets are easier than fm nets as the callsigns pop up on the dashboard.

Nice qso earlier btw.

I’d be down for this also.  Time would be good for me here on the West Coast.

I will be there. I could probably be up for NC duties once in a while.
A standard script might help. I have done only a few emcomm nets, with a script.

If I could do the hotspot thing again I would have spent the same money and gotten a GD-77 and updated the firmware to OpenGD77 and used it just for a hotspot.

I have one of the GD-77's that I run OpenGD77 firmare and it work very well.

I bought my GD-77 last year for $65.00 with an extra battery from Radioditty's Black Friday sale. With OpenGD77 firmware installed it does a great job at a bargain price.

am working on setting up my AT-D878UV Plus which I received today

I'd be interested once I got it all figured out...

eta:
I have worked with moto codeplugs before, but it's been a long time (Jedi series using a RIB or smartRIB, if you're familiar)
but looking at this, it will be a slight challenge.

I'd put the AT 878 as easier than the older Moto gear, no DOSbox, serial adapters, RIBs, or ancient RSS to deal with.

I built up the 878 codeplug from scratch as thinking the analog side needed a lot more channels than digital, might have done that a bit differently.

And referenced this page more than a few times.http://members.optuszoo.com.au/jason.reilly1/868mods.htm

I am running one of those, however, you must be aware that the duty cycle is not rated for a repeater which is essentially how it is used as it transmits whenever anyone talks. I have mine set for 1 watt and then run it into a small amp and get 30 watts out of it and have a range of 12 miles (with an antenna at 30 feet or so) depending on terrain which varies around my QTH

ETA: I checked, it runs at 1/2 watt

I do have an MD-380 DMR radio but haven't touched it in several years. It was used several times to talk to someone on a Breadmaker (or something similar) repeater. Obviously almost any answer can be found on the internet but I don't feel like spending several hours searching. Can anyone answer several dumb questions? I'm not a VHF/UHF digital guy.
Can I check into this net with my smartphone, like on Echolink?
How do I check into this net with my MD-380, without a hotspot?

A repeater within range that is on the TGIF DMR network, with at least dynamic talkgroups allowing the ARFCOMM TG.

The popular networks are cbridge and brandmeister, with some regional ones as well.  I've not run across a repeater in the wild that uses TGIF - but i haven't looked in a while either.
Link Posted: 10/15/2020 7:35:42 PM EDT

TinLeg nailed it, @Gyprat a Pi-based hotspot is the "inexpensive" ticket to the net.

There is a TGIF-linked repeater locally but haven't been able to access the talk group through it (yet).

Negative on the Echolink.

If you go the hotspot route, good reference here: https://www.ar15.com/forums/outdoors/DMR-Talk-Group-for-Arfcom-Hams/22-694377/

Get that 380 fired up.
