Hi Guys,

This may be a fairly basic question but what size transformer would I need to power 8 charging cradles that all take 12.5v DC input?

the craddles output 8volts at 400-450MA

Need more info. Are you trying to reduce voltage from 12.5v to 8v. You cannot transform DC you would need a resistor.

I want to Lower voltage from 220Volts (main power) Down to  feed 8 Charging Craddles for HT's, each craddle is supposed to be fed 12.5 volts DC.

The craddle themselves output to the HT 8.5~volts  and 400-450Ma.

Instead of having each craddle with its own 12 volt transformer/power supply I want to have all 8 with one mains power supply so it will only take up one wall socket.

What is the ratings off the current power supply to the cradle?

A Transformer is an AC device so you need More than just
a transformer to build your power supply for the cradles

220 volts is one of them-there euro-pee-on commie voltages.

Are you sure you're actually located in Texas, rather than Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, or some other country with a gay-sounding name?

Sorry, Forgot to mention not inside the states atm.

Using 230-40 AC here.

The current output is 12V DC 1000Ma

Ding ding. Multiply by ten and there's your answer.

If you wanted to get real pretty, a properly sized switching power supply (betting that a 10-15A output will be more than sufficient) and then a 10-plug RigRunner...
