Just scanned the Universal page, what are the difference between it and the DX-SR8T?

My guess is the 9 wont have a display.

I would be interested if at or under $300 which I doubt but while I like the sdr for rx I'm happy to tx with my 2000

Maybe its just an upgraded 8.

I like that the manufactures are adding SDR features. Now if we can just get 220MHz

When I was down at the 2013 IWCE show in Vegas in February,  the Alinco rep told me that the radio was going to have a remote head on it as well as an SDR function of some sort, but he was just a little uncertain how that was going to work.

Ok, thanx for the QST link.  So far it looks like a DX-SR8T, with SDR compatibility.  I have had a DX-SR8T for over a year now and love it so far, I am just a Tech so I only QSO on 10 meters but I have logged NY, HI and a bunch of inland states.  Monitor lower bands all the time.  I think its a great DX rig for the money I picked mine up for $300.

You can do CW in small band segments on 80, 40, and 15.  CW via computer is perfectly fine, it doesn't have to be by ear.

If they'd use that same chassis to make a 220 + 900 all mode, like their 222/900 HT, they'd sell a bunch of them.  Even better if it had 2m/70cm.

I would like to see DSP, 220/1200, 2m/70cm and 4 antenna outputs (2m/70cm, 220, 1200, HF) then in my eyes it would be perfect. Then it would be a TS2000x and probably not much cheaper!  The 900 band around here is so noisy the local hams don't use it, 2m is almost as bad but not quite.  We use allot of 220, 440 and 1200.

I can see DSP in my lcd screen if I look at it at an angle looks like the screen was made for future models?
