Anyone up for a QSO on 80m? I just got my tuner today and think I have it set up so I can tx on 80, but it would be nice to try transmitting and find out if I can be heard.

This is my first try transmitting on 80m. Would it be better in another place on the band?

Shouldn't make any difference, uh. . .  you do know this is the the Amateur Extra part of the band?

Yes, should I move up higher? I am an Extra, FWIW. I don't think the propagation is my friend tonight.

Some guy with a wide signal is now right above me.

Cool, glad you have the extra, It's got to be propagation, move to where there are more stations and call CQ, there used to be a lot of clicks on 75M so I don't know what kind of answer you'll get but at least try.
73,
Rob

I am laying low with the flu at home and sleeping often.   If you are working from home maybe we can try if you want.

Sorry to back pedal.   I cannot today, the wind gusts got pretty bad so I laid my antenna down.

No worries; the weather is rainy and windy here, too. If you are up for an attempt over the weekend, shoot me a text or something and we can try.

I did end up having 2 QSOs on 80M. One with a guy in Ontario and one with a guy in Anguilla, so at least some signal is getting out.

I'm guessing you're not mobile anymore. I've got the 7300 on 40m right now. Calling from AR on 7.184

Moved up to 7.187. I think I had somebody try to come back, and end up in a QSO. I couldn't make out either station.

I'm thinking of trying to check in on the YL net on 14.332.00 0225 Zulu. A good Memorial Day to all.

Aaand while I was laboriously typing, net control sank down into the noise. I'm all about that Ultimax Life, yo.

Ok, roger.

If anybody has a better band to try (40 or under, I am on an Ultimax 100, too low) I'm in.

Otherwise thanks for trying to dig me out.

Apologies, I did not state that I was offline. I monitored the thread and the 7300 for a bit. I'm hearing a lot more lately, I guess the SFI is useful. Not looking to QSO this morning though I am hearing AL pretty well on 40m.
