This is the first hamfest I have been to.  Just like a gun show, just a different product to look at.  I went looking for coax and connectors.  I ended up at "The Wireman".  They had the best products and the best price.  The "Wire Lady" really know the product.   Ended up buying 150' of CQ Super 8, Amphenol UHF connectors, and grounding strap.   Now I need a set of desk plans for my station.  Anyone know where I can find some plans?

A computer desk will work pretty well. That's what I'm using now. I would eventually like to build a custom bench. How much room do you have to work with?

a set of the 2 drawer file cabinets and a hollow core door also make a nice desk. it even gives you a nice little hole to run the cables through. its what i use for a computer desk.

I have been looking at a computer desk at a thrift store.  I have about 6'.  I could move some items around to give me 8 feet.  Your station is like what I have in mind.

I have thought about this too.  I would need to make some shelf's for the power supplies and to mount the 2 meter radio.

shelves are easy if you have any wood working skills. a single half sheet of MDF would give you a nice set of shelves. a little stain or paint and your GTG.

I was hoping to make it this year. I've been trying to make Shelby for the past 3 years and can't seem to make it up there. Last year i was hiking the AT so that was a good reason.

that was the first Hamfest I ever went to. Lived at that time in NC not too far from there. Glad to see it is still kicking, I bet it was good

It was good.  Lots of people and vendors.  The temperature was 80 and sunny.  Perfect for walking around.
