I have a Yaesu FT-7800R on order, to be mounted in my '97 Ford Expedition.  Has anyone here installed a ham radio in one of these trucks?  Any tips, or pitfalls to be aware of?

FWIW, I am planning to run the power directly to the battery.  I haven't decided yet if I'll use the Yaesu separation kit and mount only the head where it's accessible, or just have the whole radio out.  (Gigaparts is throwing in the separation kit so I will have it if I want to use it.)

Thanks.
