Best Book on Antennas

What is the best reference book on antennas / antenna design? It should at least give characteristic impedances of the designs and include some wire yagis and other wire designs.

Best all around book. If you want to get into specific designs there are better books that go more in depth. Again the ARRL Antenna Handbook is my desktop reference for most things antenna.

Antenna Engineering Handbook

If you're primarily interested in homebrewing amateur radio antennas rather than reading for a doctoral thesis, there are two books I would recommend in addition to the ARRL antenna book... I'll have to find them for more specifics... IIRC one is called the "easy wire antenna handbook" and the other is just "vertical antennas" (that's an oldie but a goodie).
