I remember reading here that there was a survival fiction novel in which they deal with one of their family members having diabetes. My search is weak. Does anyone recall the name of that book? I am hoping to pick up some pointers.

I think it was mentioned in Lucifer's Hammer but did not go into much detail.

They covered the guy and the situation pretty well.  They were even beginning to raise sheep to make the insulin....  but yeah, not a lot of detail on that end of it.
