My mother makes an incredible dish with this.  You shred it and then cook it up with dill, sour cream and some other ingredients.  It freezes very well.  My parents don't have any seeds left and this is all I could find:

Thank you.  I also found this:

I may go with this one as I emailed pictures to my mother and the British variety seems closest to what they grew.

It's a Hungarian recipe from my mother.  The closest would be this:  Squash with dill and sour cream (tejfeles tökfőzelék)

However, while you can make it with yellow or green squash, it is traditionally made in Hungary with vegetable marrow and really tastes the best.  That's why I want to go to the trouble of specifically growing vegetable marrow.
