for a basic table top weather alert radio I use a Reecom.... the SAME area alert function gives you ability to select which warnings you wish to receive, and the message is audible not text after the warning alert

The CountyComm unit is missing the solar and charge functions, but is a good radio.

That's said, if you're considering the CountyComm GP-5, I strongly suggest you look at the C.Crane radios.

The C.Crane's SSB adds weather band (and VHF and aviation, though probably of marginal utility to most.)
The AM antenna is integrated as well. The form factor is tiny and a bit more typical of a small portable radio as opposed to the handheld shape of the GP-5.

if you drop shortwave SSB, the radio can be had for $90. It's got a clock with an alarm that makes it a decent travel radio (assuming you don't rely on your phone like most.)

In general you're going to be much better off in this instance with a few separate devices (e.g. solar panel, USB power bank, and a radio.) I have a few of the Eton units and while the radios are OK, the charge feature is very, very limited in what it can do, the solar panel is tiny and pretty much just enough for the radio. Lots of cranking for a few minutes of talk time.

Even a small USB power bank will blow pretty much any of the radios out of the water. If you're set on multi-function devices, maybe explore a streamlight lantern w/ power bank.

Amazon Product
  • AM/FM NOAA Weather Emergency Crank Radio
  • Extremely Bright Cree LED Flashlight 130 Lumens
  • USB Output for charging other Portable Devices

Best part is it runs on an 18650 so unlike alot of the others of this type if the battery goes bad you can replace it easily. Charges with micro usb and has a full size usb if you want to charge something off it.

To meet the requirements the OP actually asked for you can't go wrong with the Kaito KA500.  We have used a kaito at home for AM radio for years and on many camping trips for solar charging as well as music.
