Time to replace my old Sierra Designs 2 person tent that was tasked for truck camping.  I'm giving the old one to my son. I still have my Tarptent for backpacking.  

This is a Marmot Limelight 3P ( 2 + a Lab) I wouldn't want to sleep 3 people in it.  It has a Cedar (Green) fly, and two doors, which are both pluses in my book.

First task, find a spot in the back yard that is clear of dog crap.



This thing sets up almost as fast as my Tarptent.



On close inspection, the only iffy thing I see is this silicone type plastic widget that ties the two main poles together.  I figure it may pop in cold weather. I don't really see why it's needed though.



Pretty big vestibules.









Will give it a try this weekend since I can't walk.

It came with one. It's laying in front of it in the last pic (I think).

REI. I had a bunch of dividend $$ to spend there, plus I got free shipping.   If you're not a member, you can probably do better elsewhere as far as price goes. Backcountry.com has good deals. I think all they had was the orange one when I looked though .

Having lived in a 14some million people city most of my life and in an apt right in the middle of downtown Buenos Aires for the last three yearsyears trust me when I say you're a blessed man. You have a very nice backyard man.


My Irish GF just gave me a Gelert meteor 2 tent she brought over from the UK (Belfast) for my birthday. I'll post pix as soon as I get around to pitch it in some park around BA.

I'll try to throw it on the scale tomorrow before I leave on our camping trip.  I never bought it with any intention of carrying it though since I have much lighter options.

As for seasons, it wouldn't bother me in the least to use it in the winter since I've used a Tarptent in those conditions many times.

It gets cold and snows plenty here, but I'm not climbing Everest. It will do fine.
