Main Trading Company in TX has the Kenwood TM-281 on sale through today for $139 shipped.

I bought mine a few months ago for $149 shipped.  Either way a deal.

YMMV, no interest, just passing on savings.  Cross posted in Ham Forum.

One could legally use this radio for local 2 meter repeater/simplex comms with a minimum of the Technician Class Amateur Radio Licenses.

Looks like they make up for the radio's low price on the programming cable...

Too bad I missed this deal.  Does anyone know if they run specials like this often?

I've seen them lower a few Black Fridays ago...I checked the price this am, it's up to $144 with free shipping...$5 more than the sale, and $5 less than I paid a few weeks back-still a good deal (YMMV)

That's still a pretty good deal.  I may have to pull the trigger on one.  Thanks for the heads up.

I'm going to be pulling the trigger on the Kenwood radio pretty soon, along with the 8' Diamond antenna.  I just need to source a mil antenna bracket for the M1009.

The reason I like HamCity is I can get everything at one site, and they will mod the radio before they ship it for $40.  Cheap insurance against doing it myself.
