I can pro form most of the major name brands so I have been looking at TNF and MSR.

We need a 3 person all season tent that will last a long time. Do any of you have any experience with these models or have a better suggestion??

You might check out the Mountain LIght 3 from LL Bean.  It might be small for what you are looking for, you would have to pretty close to that third person.  I bought one for kayak camping and the dual vestibules are great.  Recently did a 3 day 2 night float and the tent did great, even had a pretty hard downpour the first night and that is where the vestibules really came in handy.

Check out Marmot tents also. My buddy has an older one (about 7-8 years) and it has never failed us. Very sturdy. They have plenty on their website that are comperable to what you have listed.

I have a Sierra Design "converible" that is good for 2 people with extra room and could squeeze a thrid ( we have done two adults and two kids and a dog in it). Nice thing abotu a convertible is that in the summer you can leave a couple poles home to save weight but in the winter or wind you can pitch it with the extra poles and be rock solid. Sierra Design will get you a comparible quailty tent for less money.

I got tired of replacing tents, so a few years back I bought a TNF Trailhead 6. The thing is impervious to weather, super durable, I stay dry as a bone out here in the Pacific Northwest.
TNF is the real deal, and I'll buy another one when the time comes. The Trailhead is probably larger & heavier than what you're looking for, but I was mostly speaking to the quality of tent The North Face puts together.

The poles are big & beefy, there is thought put into ease of setup when alone, the tent is water tight, but with plenty of ventilation.

If you go with TNF, buy it from REI (get a membership) so if you ever have any problems, you can take it back & they'll give you a new one or credit your account.
