Maybe a stupid question (or indicator of poor google-fu), but what is the width/height (or perhaps diameter, since it appears as though it might be sort of cylindrical) of the sleep system carrier on a MOLLE pack?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm looking for a "take everything but the kitchen sink" pack for family trips where I can't just carry my lightweight personal setup.  With 2 kids and the mrs.,  there is a lot of crap to haul, and I know I'll be carrying the bulk of it.  At the price point these packs are going for these days, it might actually be worth picking one up even though they're not the top-of-the-line.  If I hate it, I'll give it to the kiddos when they're bigger.... hell, I might buy two and consider it part of their scholarship (ahem) training program (maybe it'll encourage them to study).

about 2 inches smaller than the MSS that is supposed to fit in it...

seriously, it is almost exactly the size of the compressed MSS
I am sure you can find that size online

I see the 30" x 14" (diameter) thrown out a lot, but I'm not sure if that's compressed or uncompressed.  Assuming that's uncompressed since 30" would be a pretty wide load.  No clue what the compressed dimensions would be.

Guessing about 24" x 12"?

ETA:  both of those are way over 1600ci so I'm guessing perhaps 20" x 10" (diam)?  That works out to just about 1600ci... math is your friend I guess....
