I just bought some US surplus waterproof clothing bags from sportsmans guide, and they're great except that they really stink!  I bought them as stuff sacks for my sleeping bags, but there's no way I'm sleeping in a bag stored in one of these things.  Is it ok to wash it?  I wouldn't put it in the drier, but I don't want to wreck them in the washing machine, either.  Anyone out there with experience with these?

They should work fine in the washer, I would stick to cold water though and mild detergent though.  I washed my issue bag a couple of times with no troubles.

^ What he said.
Mine never smelled that bad but (I never tried this >) I'd try soaking in cold water and baking soda if they were mine.
