For anything more than the occasional power outage, the Eton radios are nothing more than the usual novelty Chinese junk.
Various problems:
The "battery" doesn't last long or hold a charge.
The tiny solar panel takes hours of intense sunlight to fully charge.
The plastic selectors and crank teeth break easily under normal use.
The crank will not charge phones reliably, and often will not work at all as the radio battery will not hold a charge long enough to power the phone battery.
Reception is poor unless you're outside, on top of your house and away from any form of interference like buildings and tall trees.
On top of those, the radios have the overall poor QC of Eton products. I would at most pay $5 for one of these considering how they rarely last more than one or two uses during a power outage, but not $60.
Side note, the Red Cross is far from a good cause, they are a predatory "charity" seeking no more than their own profit. Check how much they make asking for donations against how much they actually shell out during a disaster
