Ohhh, well played.

Just FYI.  I purchased one of these a while back for duty wear.  They are made by Point Blank.  The are very heavy compared to a name brand, but less than half of the price.  I have gotten use to it, but it is a far cry from the top of the line Point Blank I had before it.  That being said; If I had to get shot wearing either one, I would choose the Galls because of the weight and thickness.  I think the blunt force trauma would be substantially less, but again they are very heavy, thick, and inflexible.  Also the carrier is showing signs of significant wear after only a month.  Still I would certainly recommend it on a budget or for occasional wear.

You could have the guys at PPI hook you up. I bought one of their Python 3-a vests in all Twaron (resists contact shots better than the laminates) for $480, custom fitted. HERE

To be sure, the all-twaron weighs significantly more, but it fits well enough I don't notice it much.
