I will be in a big, big trouble. It will probably take me more than one hour just to get ready to defend my own home from a "large assault". If I will have to "bug out" I'd probably have no chance at all, All that I have to defend my home right now is a .357 Smith & Wesson with one speed loader for reloading. All of my ARs are asleep in the safe. No loaded magazines, nothing. I have a 9mm Norinco Tokarev downstairs with three loaded magazines (24 rounds total) - but it is also in the safe.
I am basically screwed if the zombies came |
|
I have 4 compact cases that hold all my firearms, ammo and gear..I can get em in the surburban in 15 minutes.Thats why I dont collect any more I just have go to firearms My ARs,M14,Shotguns,1911s.I use a strike4 mollee set up for gear.It would depend on the situation but there may be a scenario where you couldnt leave your home so its good to stock dry goods, water and battereis incase you have to dig in for a month.
|
|
All I need is my trusty .22 and 20 rounds
I am liking the night vision. My wallet - not so much |
|
I think NV will be my next major purchase. Much more usefull to me than yet another rifle.
|
|
Hell, I'm ready right now. As far as 'bugging out', I never understood that term or at least the concept.
Where you going to bugout to? In 100+ degree Texas heat it would make for one miserably short campout. I'll just keep the generator ready and stay and hold the fort, thanks. |

I don't think in terms of "bugging out," but rather of defending my home. I'll grab my bushmaster A2 and hand the Ruger Mini-14 to my wife. There's plenty of .223 for both, and lots of loaded PMags for the AR.
For other defensive needs, I've got the Mosin-Nagants and the Enfields. There's also lots of 7.62x39 for the Romanian SKS. And for long-range work, I have an Ishapore 2A1 and Springfield M1A in .308. Hopefully, none of that will ever be necessary. But realistically, I think the odds on the S hitting the F are increasing every day. No photos; this shouldn't be a bragging thread. |

I was on Lake Lanier last weekend on my parents new boat and for some reason I had every gun I owned with me. I was feeling a little crazy and I loaded them all onto a little inflatable dingy and I'll be damned if the entire lot of it went down in over 100ft of water. Horrible....fucking horrible..... |
|
I just hope the 150+ rounds of 00 Buck and Slugs can cut through all the zombies until I can reach my arsenal in the basement. I also have a Keltec 380 upstairs, but I think my Mossberg 500A with Surefire Tactical Fore grip will do a better job. Once I reach the basement the Zombies are screwed.

The Steyr AUG is a strange-lookin' thing right out of a sci fi movie but there's just something about them I find visually appealing.
I really dig that green one. |

I like the guys who say they'll hold down the fort and shoot it out with the zombies.
Depending on just who the zombies are, as soon as they ID your location and put a laser designator on your ass, you'll be part of a vapor cloud generated by a Hellfire missile. Or maybe you'll eat an RPG, or your house will be dismantled stick-by-stick by 50-cal fire. That being the case, bugging out is the only way to stay alive even for a short time. IOW, you will need to shoot and run, and as my old DI said, you'd better run fast and in the right direction. . . |

And your packing all this by yourself within time if shtf? Hehe no, not packing it all at once, it depends on what the condition of the SHTF, zombie attack, bad weather, winter, etc. I would probably, since I'm an original AR guy would use my first two AR carbines, but it's not hard at all to dump about 10 to 12 firearms plus ammo on my Jeep, that's what I do most of the time when I go to target practice anyway. It would probably be less than that since I lost most of it in a boating accident. |

I have a 16" Rock River Entry Tactical with iron sights and a Scout light and three 30 round loaded mags ready to go plus a Glock 17 with 2 mags. The mags for the AR are in a safe but that is really quick access. I think the best weapon for this scenario would be a short barreled rifle with a suppressor.
