What do we think of this as a basis / core of a family food effort compared to nitro pax, etc?

Says right on the pages....

Freeze-dried products have up to 20 year shelf life if unopened

Dehydrated products have up to 10 year shelf life if unopened

Shelf life varies per can/product (see individual cans for optimum shelf life suggestions)

I just did a very quick check and the shelf life varries.....https://www.shelfreliance.com/shop/listing/8

TVP that I checked was 10 years, corn was 25y and pintos were 30y.  Follow that link and you can check others for yourself.

Oh, and by the way - do NOT be tempted by the "275 serving bucket o' food" - each serving is 150 calories.

The lawsuit over this is pretty funny reading: http://soundpolitics.com/PopeCostcoLawsuit.pdf

I have seen a lot of Chinese made Freeze dried foods in regular stores lately.  Does anyone know the country of origin on this brand  ?

We think it's really poor compared to what you can get from a Mormon Cannery. Find a member who can take you.

Indeed.

ROTFLMAO!!!!
"Costco’s “Emergency Food

Supply – Three month food supply for one person” would therefore provide approximately onethird

the daily caloric intake of the starvation diet that the Nazis imposed at Auschwitz."

Always wondered what kind of HUMAN they were thinking of that could survive on 150 calories a day for 3 months!

DUUUUHH....
