From this weeks tales of the pressure canner.... Canned Chicken.
Some of you may remember (or not) , but I try to run something through the canner every weekend to build up some shelf stock of decent food. The wife got a good deal on chicken tenders and bought 14 lbs. So, I figured I'd can some before she froze the rest. I raw packed it, put some hot chicken broth on top and processed. Kind of looks like boiled puke, but don't let that scare you.
So far, I've canned ham and bean soup, chicken soup, beef stew, chilli, and spaghetti sauce with meat. I think next week I'm going to get some wide mouth pints and raw pack hamburger, can't see buying that stuff from MRE Depot when I can do it myself.
Anyway, it's starting to add up as far as the stocks go.
Some of the other stuff.
