I am taking some time off next week, so I went to my library's web site and put the following books on hold to pick up today:

1984
Animal Farm
Brave New world
Lucifers Hammer
Alas Babylon

I have never read the above except for Alas Babylon.

I have a feeling that I may not have a better attitude post vacation.....

Add Atlas Shrugged to that list. Seriously. Unless,of course, you've already read it.

You're correct. I forgot how to spell his last name.
I actually read that book in the late '70s
I picked it up at a used bookstore out of curiosity, having never heard of it.
What a load of Commie Crap.
A friend saw the book at my house. his comment was simply CLASSIC.
He said: "Rules for Radicals??? Radicals don't have rules!"
Glad I read it tho'. Know thyne enemy.

Add "Farenheight 451" by Ray Bradbury and "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin and you've got a pretty comprehensive 'Distopia' collection. Great books all, "We" is a little tough to get through, but falls right in line with the rest. If  you didn't already have a strong distrust of big government, you definitely will by the end of the week.

Oh, and try to buy them all in cash from a local dealer....avoid getting added to the watchlist that I'm sure many of us are on already  *straightens tinfoil hat*
