Growing on an old Stump, Looks similar to a small Pumpkin pie.

I don't want to eat it or anything like that. Just curious what it is. Don't recall seeing anything like it, Maybe a variation on the Shelf Fungus?

Hey I got one of those too, only mine is orange allover, i think because it spored out cuz the ground around it is orange too.  Must be going around the area.

ETA: it is also in the vicinity of where a tree use to be.

We have something that looks like that here in GA.  Ours have more than two legs...generally 4.  It looks to me like a starfish with its toes touching.

It also has a 'lung tissue' looking membrane that smells like decaying flesh.  I hav eno idea what it is, but it is pretty cool.

This appears to be a pretty good mushroom/fungus photo id website:
www.fungaljungal.org/guide/index.htm

The problem with it is many of the photos are a bit small for id until you click on them to view the larger versions.

That looks delicious. I think I'm going to Safeway for a meatball on pita open-faced sandwich.
