[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help Newbie to Archery.

A friend gave me his old pearson bow after I enjoyed shooting is bear bow all afternoon. the condition of the bow seems ok. The string needs replacing, and there are no add ons on the bow just sights. So where can a total newb like me get all the information on archery? Like the name of the parts on a bow and what they r used for. Also a good place to buy supplies.

Hunting forums like this one are a really good source for information!!! Nice guys around here, if you've got questions, don't hesitate to ask!!!

Do you have a local Bow Shop near you? I always try to buy local, instead of the "big box" stores, personally!!!

Not really. The closet bow shop I guess would be bass pro shop thats almost a 2 hr drive away.

We've had a few good threads around here on deals and places to buy stuff from, and there is a sticky at the top of the page with some good info for archers just starting out.

Is there any specific questions you have? It's kind of hard to start out without a certain direction.

It is not that anyone doesn't want to help, it has just been covered time and time again.
