Graduated Thursday at Ft. Campbell.  The soreness from the 12 miler is finally gone haha.  I'm just stoked that I made it through and am going to be on my training NCO's butt to send me to Airborne training.  I know its not a big deal to some of you but this is my first badge and am stoked.  It actaully felt awesome getting my blood wings from all the other AASLT qualified soldiers in my unit  I think I said Air Assault more over those 10 days than I've said any phrase in my life.

I totally built a new AR as my little gift to myself haha.  I had the parts sitting by my door and didn't let myself open em up till I got pinned.  Thats probably why I took 4 days to make this post lol.

Nice on getting honor grad!  I was close to honor grad actaully!  I got 96 on phase one test and maxed hand signals.  Got 100 on phase 2 test and maxed the slingload inspects.  1st time go on all phase 3 rapels and fast ropes.  I got beat out by a Ranger qualified Captain who got 100% on everything .  I also had 5 workoff points because the rain melted my roster number off my ACH.  I was class 07-12 "Kicking butt and taking names!" I hated our motto some E-7 randomly picked for all of us.

Congratulations! It's a good feeling to get that first badge...Airborne is going to be harder to get unless you PCS to an Airborne unit. See if you can get Pathfinder at Campbell.

Yea my unit makes us do a 12 mile every three months.  But we do them more often than that.  Usually I'm fine after one but they smoked the crap out of us the 3 days leading up to it so we went into it already beat up  4 guys had to be scraped up by the medics and a total of 15 didn't complete it or finish in time.  Its bittersweet to see them make the walk of shame with their gear after that.  You feel bad that they went through all the training just to fail on the last day but it kinda makes you feel good about yourself in a demented way

Congrats!  Class 6-91 from the Light Fighter Academy at Ft. McCoy.  I was one of a few NG in a class full of West Pointers.  Plus back then it was all UH1H, can you still "possum" out of a Blackhawk?

Now go for the wings that take guts!

Airborne will seem much easier.... right until you actually get on the plane for your first jump.

Yep we had a bunch possum out of the UH-60.  Funny as hell to watch.  On the topic of Westpointers, one of our Air Assault Sgts asked if we had any Westpoint grads.  We had one.  The AASLT SGT then told us a story about how he had told one in the past to "beat his face" and the Westpoint grad then began to literally start punching himself in the face hahahaaa

Anybody can FALL out of a plane. Hell, even cargo FALLS out of a plane.

It takes skill to hold onto a rope and learn the mighty fine art of SLINGLOAD.

No reserves here. AIR ASSAULT!!!

Obviously, I'm not sporting my ice cream cone badge...
