Central VA.
Think were at 120 sworn. |

Down from 56 in '95 when I hired in to 35 YTD. Thats sworn from the lowest rookie up to the chief. So there are really only about 25people who work.

The first agency I worked for had 18 sworn, including the Chief. The second was around 200 sworn and my last department had a total of 12 sworn.....

Quoted: 5 Looking for #'s 6 and 7. God, I wish I could move to east TX and work for an agency like that. |

City population = 100,000+
160 Sworn, and we are a few short.... |
|
Theoretical number budgeted for? 2000.
Number budgeted under reduced budget (but still with money for mandatory 62 hour works?) 1600 Number claimed? 1550 Real number? Probably about 1400-1500. |

On paper, we rate 255. Actually have 240 or so right now, we've been between 215 and 250 since I have been here.

About 100 full time and 40-50 reserve officers.
I'd like to work for a pd that's under 15 people or less..... one day I'll move out to a nice small city with a nice small pd. What I have noticed is that the smaller PD have better funding and equipment then my PD. |
|
16 sworn
Only 11 assigned to patrol including the Sgt's. Usually we have more dispatchers and corrections working at any given time than patrol officers. Something wrong with that... |

22 sworn full time. We are down a guy or two (hopefully we can fill the positions), plus about 5 or so part time guys.
We use a regional jail and a separate dispatch center, so there are no CO's or Dispatchers, just sworn deputies (and a couple non-sworn admin people). |

Quoted:
130 sworn, 20 reserves, 4.5 square miles Damn, that's some population density right there. Our patrol districts (one officer per) run 4-8 sq miles, and we're a middle size city. |

We're surrounded by Los Angeles on all four directions. We're like a little safe island floating in a cesspool called L.A. |
