While the topic is sexually oriented, it's also true that uniforms seem to attract groupies.  AR15fan's post generated some moral (immoral?) support about these advances by aggressive women and gave us hope that we too could overcome such temptation.  DARN!

I vote to unlock such topics if they don't include nudie pix or overly suggestive descriptions.

Rules is rules is rules.  They were changed to prevent AR15.COM from turning into an alternate porn site for juveniles.  

It stays locked unless one of the Staff rules otherwise.

I deliberately kept it rated PG and asked others to do the same. No big deal either way.

Sorry Fan, but best intentions go out the window after the first post since you have no control over the behavior of others.  Just look at what happened in GD.

We all have stories from the job and it sometimes seems that the best venue for them is after work over adult beverages.

It's an interesting idea, but on certain topics, some might be tempted to edit or delete responses which really have no buisness being deleted or edited.

Can you imagine some of the people who post in GD given editing powers of any kind:

If a topic starter could keep control of their own thread to keep it on topic and within the rules then the Mods might find their load lighter.  IMHO, any topic starter who modified or deleted posts to put a reply poster in a bad light or to mislead everyone about a reply poster's position would probably find themselves being flamed and/or shunned by the AR15.Com population for these actions.

"Flamed" might even be a bit of an understatement for the treatment one would get for tampering with an AR15.Commer's right to free speech. [pyro] [flame]

Only Staff and Moderators can control forum content and the "Freedom of Speech" non-issue was beaten to death on General Discussion.  The result was the current Forum Conduct Guidelines.  Waverunner, doorgunner and I would be the ones who would have to closely...and I mean VERY closely monitor AR15Fan's topic to keep it under control.  I choose not to.

AR15Fan started a topic that was close to harmless as AZCOP said, but it's subject matter caused it to teeter on the line.  The direction of the thread became clear and it was in violation of the guidelines so I locked it.  There's no point in debating this issue any further, unless you can convince Goatboy to allow people to post Penthouse-like porn stories here after they were supposed to be banned from the site.

I do agree with Dave_g on this. You only need to look at bladeforums to see how some threads go overboard.
