gotta disagree with ya there Dave. Compared to our 20" 223's, our 16" 9mm carbines have next to no recoil.
More and More police entry teams are going to short rifles in .223 as opposed to subgun caliber firearms because of the less penetration of the .223 rounds than the pistol caliber rounds. |
I've read the "223 is better" articles as well.
Regarding muzzle velocity..out of a 16" barrel our 147 gr hp's are doing around 1200 fps.
I've said it before and I'll say it forever..IMHO 9mm carbines are nothing but a good training aide to get people comfortable with the ar platform.
For a duty long gun they are at the bottom of the list.
