Salary Range:  $43,053 to $64,579

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is conducting a competitive examination for Airport Police Officer positions.  These positions may be at either Ronald Reagan Washington National or Washington Dulles International Airports.  Candidates must be willing to work at either Airport in order to apply.

   To be eligible for the examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:
a. be a U.S. Citizen
b. be at least 21 years of age or within 6 months of your 21st  birthday
c. be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent
d. have a valid driver's license from your state of residence
e.  meet Visual Acuity standards (Far vision must be at least 20/30 in each eye corrected with lenses or spectacles.   Uncorrected far vision must be at least 20/100 in each eye. Visual field performance without correction shall be 140 degrees in the horizontal median of each eye.)
We will be holding two Open Testing Sessions on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 8:00am and 10:30am.  To be scheduled for this test, please complete and bring form PS-07 and an Authority application form to the testing site at:

Registration for the 8:00am test will begin at 7:30am, and registration for the 10:30am test will begin at 10:00am. Seating is limited, so please plan accordingly.  Applicants, who meet the eligibility criteria, will be given the opportunity to take the examination.  The examination will test the applicant's relative ability to be trained as an Airport Police fficer.  For those candidates who pass the test, a structured oral interview will be scheduled by the Authority's Police Department. Candidates are also subject to a thorough background investigation, which includes a full employment history check, a credit check, a criminal history records check, and a driving records check.  Prior to employment, a rigorous physical examination, including a drug test, will be performed.  Psychological testing will also be conducted.
