I hope they didn't have to take the badge out of evidence and clean it with bleach before issuing it to you.

So what times happy hour rookie

BTW who'd you piss off to get that badge?   Even elevators don't go to 13

Congratulations!  I still have my first badge...we went from numbered badges to badges with the state seal in the middle back in 2000, and we could buy our old ones if we wanted to for $5.  Some guys use them as wallet/off-duty badges, mine is in my safe awaiting the day when I retire and can put it in a shadow box.

I was the 549th officer hired on my PD. They now reissue badges.  Someone else has my badge.

When I went federal my badge number was 1739... and there had been a lot more than 1739 sworn in since the year 1789 when the agency was created by President George Washington!

Good luck.  The best advise I received in almost 30 years on the job was this...

Do not get yourself into anything you can't get yourself out of.

(You can't count on the "cavalry" arriving in time to save your ass, things happen fast!!)

GOOD LUCK!!!

Congrats.
Here is a story my FTO told me once.
A farmer was walking his fence line one day and observed a half dead snake. The snake was cold and hungry and was in poor shape. The farmer took the snake home and nursed it back to health. One day he was feeding the snake and it bit him. The farmer asked. "why did you bite me after I took such good care of you". The snake replied, "It's what I do, It's who I am". The moral of the story is know a snake when you see one and never trust it.

Be safe.
