A friend of mine is giving me a well cared for Safariland Zero-G Level II Gold series vest that was manufactured in March 2000 because he plans to get a new one.

Does any know if this vest contains Zylon or is questionable in construction?  Is it good for use or should I "use" as a test target?  Thanks.

i believe the gold vest is partially zylon, but i'd check with safariland.  I remember being told not to buy safariland vests higher than silver during the zylon scandal.

I'd look into that as well. It should say on the vest panel on a label affixed to it what its composition is.

I was told that Safariland silver was the only way to go because the gold and platium had zylon.
