NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – The City of Crossville is mourning the loss of a 12-year veteran of their Police Department.

Detective Jason Wilson passed away on December 01, 2020 after an acute asthma attack. Detective Wilson was a recent graduate of the TBI State Academy for investigators. Additionally, he was a member of the Crossville Police Department’s Honor Guard, an ASP Baton Instructor, a R.A.D. Instructor, and a former correctional officer for TDOC.

Shit. I don’t know if I knew him or not. I was out there for a few weeks a couple of years ago working in operation. I’ll pass this along to the guys in my group that were there. That sucks though.

It occurs to me that everyone and their brother has gone nuts issuing Narcan and instilling mass fear of LOD overdosing..but no one pays any attention to the actual ODMP stats, which shows that there's never been a single LOD overdose death.

Asthma attacks, heart attacks, anaphylactic shock, diabetic attacks, and drownings account for a surprising number of deaths, despite being largely preventable with the right tools and training.
