I'd like to get my brother an optic for his (privately owned) rifle as a gift for reaching a career milestone. My understanding is that he's allowed to use it as a patrol rifle, as he used it to qualify recently. He's still using iron sights.

A half assed google search didn't produce an answer. Anyone know if there is a list of PSP approved sights?

I'm sure Aimpoint would be GTG, just want to know what other options there are.

I took their Patrol Rifle Instructor class earlier this year. The manual is on my desk at work, I will check it tonight and let you know. I know one is an Aimpoint, but not sure of the model.

I'm a municipal officer, so I can carry a wide variety of optics. On my main rifle, I carry the Aimpoint PRO. PSP may allow the same model, but I'll double check for you tonight.

As per their 2018 Patrol Rifle Instructor Manual...........there are two optics approved; Aimpoint Comp and Aimpoint PRO.

Call his supervisor tell him what you want to do and ask him what he would suggest. I've gotten those calls over the years from relatives around the holidays and always happy to help or offer a suggestion.

An Aimpoint PRO will be just fine as will the Aimpoint Micros. There are other approved optics, but I would consider the Aimpoints the best options.
