OP, congratulations! I retired in February of this year.

It took me a good month to get over the "playing hooky" feeling. I suspect it'll take longer for you.

Are you going to do one of those Youtube videos of your last radio call so everyone can remember you crying?

I'm in my 27th year. Struggling to reach a full 30 to max out my retirement. Wife is in TMRS also, she's sitting at 24years. Getting really hard to go to work everyday. I really need to stop looking at retirement estimates. I'll never retire if I keep doing the "If I just stay one more year" thing.... Congratulations bud, you earned it in our line of work...

Congrats, now you have the time to do what you want without having to take a vacation day. I went after 26 yrs all in uniformed patrol ops and there has not been a day that I regret since I left. Funny though I got two phone calls last week asking me how to do things at the old place and I've been gone for 18 months already.

So I retired at 2100(not in 2100, thank God) and was at the new job at 0800.

I'm an SRO at an elementary school.

OMG, my smile muscles are cramped and sore. I've been hugged more times in the last 2 weeks than in the rest of my life combined.

And I haven't even got a pension check yet...

Don't forget to keep track of how long people call you looking for things. I was getting calls at the 2-year mark asking for some file or another. I wonder if they ever found the key to the supply closet?

So you survived the last week on the job, congratulations! Although I suppose real life isn't much like the movies or TV shows. There's always lots more time spent on paperwork.

Congratulations on making it to retirement.

Now make sure you find yourself a hobby or 3.  Dont need to be 1 of those who die 2 years after u retire.
