IAFF- International Association of Fire Fighters

It’s our union but also provides a union rep when requested and can go up to the point of hiring a lawyer to defend you.

Typically your union. NYC has the Uniformed Firefighters Association, similar to the way the NY PBA is.

That’s about it. Our union dues go to the state chapter which maintains a legal defense fund for us. Some funds stay in our local but mostly are used to fund lawyers for things like contract negotiations. Most OTJ fuckups should be covered by the department’s umbrella policy.
