Yes, Tragic indeed

The first thing that went through my mind upon reading this was this officer's behavior in contrast to Bill Clinton's.

The officer's honest mistake might have allowed five people to be killed by a lunatic. But he didn't mean to transpose those digits, and he wasn't responsible for the shootings. It didn't matter to him. His sense of responsibility, in overdrive, compelled him to take his own life. Tragic.

Conversely, Bill Clinton's willful refusal to accept Bin Laden from the government of Sudan on three separate occasions during the 1990's - even after a series of Al Qaeda attacks -  allowed Al Qaeda to operate intact until 9/11. 3000 people died.

Pity that a sense of responsibility isn't universal.

This is so sad, he should have realized that he was only human and humans make mistakes. May he rest in peace...

No disrespect intended, but I sure wish he had gotten help for his pain, instead of leaving his family like that...

Sure if the one guy was behind bars, he would not have been involved in the robbery.   But if you recall.   There were more involved in it then the one guy.
With 12 years on duty, I'm sure that the trooper did some real good.   He was a leader.
REMEMBER:  You must go home every night.
Pray for all affected by this.
