Officer Killing: Man Said He Like 'Ramming Into Things' 27-Year-Old Faces 2 Counts Of First-Degree Intentional Murder
POSTED: 8:34 a.m. CDT July 24, 2002
HOBART, Wis. -- The man accused of killing two police officers near Green Bay has been officially charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
Tyson Tyson Kreuscher of Oneida was in court Tuesday.
A criminal complaint says Kreuscher (pictured in court with lawyer) crashed his truck into the officers' squad car at speeds of 65 or 70 mph.
Officers Robert Etter and Stephanie Markins (pictured) were waiting to turn onto the highway when their car was hit Monday afternoon.
Kreuscher's aunt, Marlee Wiederhoest, said her nephew has been trying hard to get better, and doesn't know what happened. He was reportedly being treated for depression.
Kreuscher told investigators he sometimes sees things on the road that he feels like ramming with his truck, according to the criminal complaint.
Kreusche, who has no criminal record other than a misdemeanor marijuana possession conviction in Michigan, said he thought about driving his truck into a pole after leaving work yesterday, but changed his mind, the complaint said.
Marlee Wiederhoest said the family is devastated and is praying for everyone involved. She says they're very sorry about what happened.
