MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. –  A Mount Rainier National Park ranger died in a shooting Sunday following a routine traffic stop, and authorities closed the 368-square-mile park in Washington state as they searched for the armed gunman, a park spokeswoman said.

This is our first LODD from gunfire in 9 years.  She had two kids and her husband is a Ranger in the same park.  The shooter is still at large.

I can't even begin to imangine being the husband and hearing that come over the air...


absolutely horrible. I hope the shooter dies a slow, painful death.

To bad he died from exposure. Extreme ventilation would have been better.

I find great justice in the fact that the place she protected took care of her attacker in a very cold way.  Exposure is not a good way to go. RIP Margaret,  we'll think of you often.
