Thanks to everyone's overwhelming donations, I've got more food than I can shake a stick at. No need to send anymore - my freezer, refrigerator, and cupboard are all full (plus I have reserves being stored at someone else's home).
Thank you very much, everyone. I hope I can put on a few pounds. If I can't, it won't be for the lack of trying!
I asked the doctor about specific dietary needs and his response was - "just eat as much of whatever you can get."
And I found out why I shouldn't eat shellfish - I haven't completed my hep. A vaccination series yet. Risking HepA when you already have liver disease is not worth it - I'd be "entirely out of luck" (whatever that means...).
One of the reasons I'm so dang skinny is due to my liver's failing ability to process & store fat. I guess the transplant team figures, if I keep packing the food down my gullet, some of it's bound to stick.
Anyway, I'm working on gaining weight and enjoying the superb meals you fine folks have prepared. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
