so i am a total wine dork and need very specific directions--are these (Mirassou, W. Hill) brands? can i find them in my local grocery store or will i need to find a more swanky place to buy wines? i like cheap pink wines

They are both brands. There are some grocery stores that have decent wine selections, but you may want to check out a wine store....

My Wife likes Toasted Head from J Phelps. It is reasonably priced at around $18.00/bottle.

Last spring we made our own wine. Blackberry Merlot. Really good! There is a shop in Fargo where you can make your own. All we do to make it legal is add the yeast, they supply the rest. Then after 6 weeks, we come back to bottle, cork and label it. It was pretty cool. The wine is very good. They have many many selections of flavors to choose from. You make 35 bottles in a batch.
