I'm looking for a Fraktur alphabet (preferably backstiched) - and I mean real Fraktur, not just something German-looking.

I hope to render the Lord's Prayer in German for a friend of mine and his family.

Are you turning your head when you do that?

The guy with the crocodile wrestling a pillow asks about a Fraktur alphabet... That is the most interesting thing that I've seen all day.  Am I letting myself in for being "brisked" if I ask, "What is a Fraktur alphabet?"   Are you trying to translate the Prayer into German? or into a certain old-fashioned font?

Is this the kind of stuff you're after?

Actually, he's scared and hiding behind it.  (He's a paranoid psychotic - more info at www.parapluesch.de).

Nah, I had to retire from that.    And my niche wasn't insult or revenge it was, well, never malicious, and always a little bizarre.  When asked nicely, I still do a little bit, but I'm only a shadow of what I once was.

I already have the translation; it's getting from printed text to the squares and lines of the pattern that's the tricky part.

Already checked those places.  The alphabet isn't hard to find, and I already have several examples of the text in that typestyle.  However, converting printed text to something which can be executed in cross-stitch can be tricky.

It's an old fashioned german font. Finding it in a cross stitch pattern is what he is looking for, which isn't easy.

Sorry about being a shadow, but if you look at it like we are all constantly growing and changing, it isn't necessarily bad.... unless you were perfect at some point.

Thanks for explaining about Fraktur via cross-stitch.  Would an existing piece of cross-stitch help?
