This is going to be one of the hardest things I have to do tonight. I am bringing my son to the hospital to see my husbands uncle who is dying. He has prostate cancer and his kidneys or liver has shut down. His blood pressure is almost non existant. What makes this hard is in the last 4 years we have lost 9 people mostly family. One really close friend. 3 years ago we lost my father in-law to a horrible disease and watched him waste away. 3 months later my brother-in-law crashed an airplane and left 2 little boys for my sister-in-law to raise. Then last year my father passed away suddenly. The list goes on but these have been the hardest, and tonight brings everything to the surface. Sorry for this,I'm usually the strong one,but not this time. Thanks for listening to me.

You are definately in my thoughts and prayers. It seems that life is quite a test of our will and faith, but when it gets to be at its worst, take a look around at the things that make you smile, like your son, and know that there are still plenty of reasons to have hope.

"There is a light that shines beyond all things on earth, beyond us all, beyond the heavens. This is the light that shines in our hearts."

Prayers are with you.  I understand how you feel; a person can only deal with so much no matter how strong they are.  I even have weak moments occasionally .

I am so sorry.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  It may be for the best that you didn't see him near the end.  Cancer is not pretty in the final stages, and now you won't have to remember him that way.  I know it isn't much comfort, but it's the best I can offer over the internet.

Thank you everyone,My 18 year old son is not taking it well. We talked for awhile last night, but it brought back so much for him, that he really thinks life is awful. His girlfriend was here with him too so hopefully it helped him somewhat. Thank you everyone.

Thank you everyone. I spent 3 hours with my husbands aunt this morning. It was hard but the right thing for me to do. Now if only my son would come home so I can find out how he is coping would be better. He's having the hardest time with this. It brings back so much for him. It is the one pain I wish I could take away from him and I can't.
