For those that want to shoot with other women, regardless of skill level (experience or lack of it), all women have this opportunity to shoot ONLY with other women on Saturday, September 25, 2004, 8:30AM - 4PM at a women's instructional shooting clinic, held at Braintree Rifle & Pistol Club. The charge for this is a whooping $10., and includes loaner firearms, ammo, eye/ear protection and lunch! Pre-registration is required and there is a limit of 40 participants.

Full details can be found on the club website, August 2004 Newsletter, page 6.

Club is located a short distance from major highways. More info on the club can be found here:
www.brp.org

I also believe that SAS runs women-only shoots one night a month at Braintree.

If anyone lives in the area, there is also a gun show on 9/11-12/04 and a lobster bake on 9/18. You need not be a member to attend any of these events. Interested parties are always welcome.

Irish,

I don't know what you do for a living, but see if you can swap off with someone if that is possible. My Wife attended this 2 years ago and was very impressed (it was her idea and I intentionally stayed home that day). And that says a lot since she tends to remind me frequently that she "hates guns"!

Two years ago, Juli Auclair of WHDH-TV participated in the event and even did a story that was rather positive! One of the instructors told me that it was obvious that Juli Auclair had handled guns before and she even expressed interest in joining the club. Last year there was no press coverage.

Make sure you post this in the Hometown forum as well - there might be some MA hubbies who can tell their non-board wives about it.

Thanks, I did just that originally and I just bumped both up so folks can find it, as the date is coming close. I'll see the ladies from SAS tomorrow at the Braintree R&P gun show www.brp.org
