I read somewhere once that when he came back after the war, Hollywood wanted to publicize him as a 'war hero' because of his work during the war.  Jimmy absolutely refused this, and threatened to quit if they even mentioned his record.

Not many people would be so firm on downplaying their contribution these days.

Now that's someone I wish we had to lead these days.

General Stewart was the Real Deal.

Contrast that with those types who go around waving their "War Hero Flag."

A real hero doesn't publicize his record.
