Please pardon my ignorance, and I wasn't able to find anything on the web about this.  My friend may be selling his two colt rifles.  One is a 20" ST-1 by Colt.  He says that this model was the precursor to the AR-15.  Any truth in this?  If so, what is the fair market value for one of these thing?  I did notice that it doesn't have a forward assist on the upper and has the old triangular hand guard.  The other is a Colt 16" post ban.  Thanks for the help.

WH - believe your friend is refering to a SP-1 (early ARs as you described, no FA or mag fence) and you can find pricing on those in the EE here.
