26 USC 53 Sec.5845(b)--
(b) Machinegun
The term "machinegun" means any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, and any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.

I have been thinking about getting an M16 Selector for my AR-15. I would like to do this as it would allow my selector to pivot into the 3rd Position. I could have it engraved with something like "Postal" or whatever. It would look kinda cool. I have already checked and my Rifle contains no M16 Parts.
So, from what I have read in 26 USC 53 Sec. 5845(b) this would not meet definitions 1 or 2 of a MG. But, I have heard tell that the ATF believes even a single M16 Part constitutes an MG as per defintions 3 and 4, even if it does not allow Full-Auto Fire. I do not wish to spend 10 Years in a Federally Funded Hotel, so I am posting this to ask what people here think about the question.
