Is it 'legal' to remove or paint over the orange strip on the barrels of airsoft pistols?

I didnt know if it was a requirement of the manufacturers or for the person owning it to keep it intact.

my is pretty sure that would be illegal. us customs will take any imported w/o orange barrel. this would suggest they dont want them in our country. however, one might consider having the plastic cap in such a condiction that it can be removed and replaced with ease. not legal, but im not telling.

It is illegal to remove the orange paint on the barrel of airsoftguns, but it is one of those laws that is rarely enforced.
